Chungwoon Biotech X Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization (KALRO)

A First Step Toward Global Cooperation for Sustainable Livestock Farming
On April 4, 2025, Chungwoon Biotech signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization (KALRO). This agreement marks the beginning of a full-scale collaboration aimed at building a sustainable livestock industry across the African region.
🤝 Agreement Details and Joint Objectives
Through this MOU, the two parties agreed to cooperate in the following areas:

TMF Fermented Feed Pilot Demonstration | June – September 2025 By utilizing KALRO’s research facilities and livestock, the feasibility of applying Chungwoon Biotech’s fermented feed technology in local conditions will be tested.
Commercialization Phase | October 2025 Based on the demonstration results, the technology will be commercialized for Kenyan farmers to enhance productivity in the livestock sector.
Establishment of a 10,000-Acre Forage Cultivation and Fermentation Storage System Using idle public land managed by KALRO, drought-resistant forage crops will be cultivated, and a fermentation-based feed storage system will be introduced to build a sustainable feed production infrastructure.
🔎 Background and Expected Impact
This collaboration was made possible following a 2024 legislative reform by the Kenyan government, which enabled public institutions to allow private entities to develop state-owned land. Through this partnership with KALRO, Chungwoon Biotech aims to build a sustainable model that contributes to climate resilience, food security, and the advancement of livestock farming in Africa.
Chungwoon Biotech will continue to serve as a global partner, delivering sustainable solutions to farmers worldwide through eco-conscious fermentation technology.
